As of August 2009, First Insurance originated as Parkland Agencies, and in Powell River, the history of Coast Country Insurance spans more than 40 years, have officially combined forces under one name: First Insurance Agencies Ltd. On Vancouver Island, Coast Country Insurance on Vancouver Island and First Insurance in Powell River, which was purchased by First Credit Union in 1990. The history of our organization is the foundation of its philosophy: that everyone deserves an opportunity to achieve financial well-being, that working together, cooperatively, works for the good of all and that giving back to communities is a key rationale for profitable operations.
